Chef

Are you a natural in in the kitchen? Do you sometimes make dinner for your family? Do you have some famous recipes you made up? You should sell your food! I remember once I thought it would be cool to make barbecue sauce so I looked up online some of the basics. We had all the ingredients in our house, so I started making barbecue sauce! I didn't follow much instructions once I got past the main ingredients. I just started throwing in anything I thought would taste good! And it turned out great! You could make desserts, or burgers, or casseroles, and sell them to your communtiy! I never sold my sauce, but I still make it once in a while just for my family and I.  

Acting

If you are usually the center of attention or like to be dramatic, you should try acting. You probably won't be in the biggest film at theaters around the world, but you could be in a show on your local television station. I remember once there was auditions for a show for little kids near me. I didn't do it because I'm not the best at acting, though I thought it would be a great way to get paid. Find auditions for a show near you and start raking in the cash!

Minecraft Maps and Skins

I'm sure almost all of you have heard of Minecraft before; I know I have (I play it often). Many people love downloading cool minecraft maps too. If you can make really cool Minecraft maps, you can put them on a website for a small price. Or, you could use a skin creator, like Nova Skin Creator, and sell your skins. Try to advertise them as best as you can and soon they can become popular.

Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a website where you can do simple things such as watch videos, take surveys, provide information about stuff, etc., and end up getting money. By doing these tasks you receive swagbucks and once you get enough swagbucks you can trade them in for gift cards to places like Target, Walmart, Amazon, and more. Its not hard, it just takes some time and commitment. This isn't the only website that does this kind of stuff too. There are many websites such as BigSpot and GetPaidSurveys that pay you to take surveys about products.

Web/Logo Designer

If you ever come across someone who needs a website for their small business or wants a new logo for their club or business, you can design it for them. Gimp is a free and easy to use program just like Photoshop where you can edit photos or cut out photos and paste them somewhere else. The possibilities you can do with a photo is endless. Just be sure that if you are going to use the photo(s) commercially, you need to find photos you can do this for. The best site for this is Creative Commons. Make sure that the boxes below the search bar are checked, and then you can search anything you want. Click one of the buttons below the search bar to choose where the photos are found. I usually click the Google Images button because Google Images usually has the most images.

Kickstarter

Kickstarter is a website only for those looking for money to invent things. This has to fit under the subjects of either technology, art, and more. Check out their website for more information. What it is is crowd funding, or where random people from around the world help fund your project, or invention. If you want to make a cool comic book to distribute in stores, but don't have the money to start it, put your idea on Kickstarter!

Modeling

A fun way to earn some cha ching is to model. you won't be on the cover of a famous magazine, but you could model for a local kids clothing store. You could also enter beauty pageants with cash prizes. I know a girl who models for the girls store Justice. 

Car Wash

Get together with some friends and have them over to your house or go to their house and have a car wash. Set up signs in the neighborhood advertising it. Have a hose, soap, and sponges or washclothes and charge $5 per car wash.

Chicken Eggs

Whether you own chickens, or don't, give this a try. First off, if you don't have chickens, get them. Build or buy a chicken coop with a fenced in pen. When the chickens lay eggs, take them, and sell them! Put a sign in your yard: "Fresh Eggs!" Or put flyers in mailboxes. Be sure to take care of the chickens!

Referee

Kids or teens can become a referee for sports for young kids. Just take the training class for reffing for a sport, and then you can start reffing! Referee for soccer, or volleyball, or almost any sport!

Street Talent

Do you live in a big city, or near a busy road? Have some talent: dancing, singing, playing a bagpipe? Go on the sidewalk with a bucket or hat, and perform. People will walk by and drop some coins in. Who knew you could make money doing what you love?

Snacks for Sports

There are sporting events everywhere, all the time. From age 2 sports to pro. What I am about to tell you, though, will not work at pro sports or you will probably get kicked out. Many sports places like a gym, soccer field, baseball field, or football field, or wherever else sports are played, do not have concessions, or they do, but their prices are way too high. Go to Costco or Meijer or Walmart and buy some snacks and maybe some drinks for cheap prices. Next time you are at your sisters volley game, or your brothers lacrosse game, bring these, and sell them higher than what you bought them for. Just today I was at my sisters volleyball game and was really thirsty and hungry, but there were no concessions. I wished someone was selling snacks and drinks. Just give it a try and see how much you can make! 

Start a Band

Get together with some friends. Make sure they can play different instruments and make sure at least one can sing. Play some songs, practice them, and have concerts! Find some restaurants or somewhere that will let you perform. Sell tickets in your neighborhood. Have fun with it!

Video Game Specialist

Do you know how to beat every level, know every secret passage way, and know the best strategy for every level in at least one video game? If so, be a video game specialist. Get paid to either go to a person's house and show them how to beat a level or game, or make a video to send to them on how to beat it, showing yourself playing the game. There might be one kid in your school who can't beat world 4 of Super Mario Bros. or a person who wants to know how to build an elevator in Minecraft, or the person that needs to know a strategy for Bloons Tower Defence game. Help the person, and charge them. Who knew you could get paid to play video games?! 

Restoration

Go on to Craigslist or eBay and buy some pieces of junk that have paint chipped away and are rusted. Yes, you heard me. Right now you're probably like, "Who is this crazy guy! I'm never going on this site again! How does buying junk get me money!?" Well, it's in the title. Restoration. Take these old, broken down things, and make them look brand new again. Re-paint them really nice, glue the pices back on that fell of, scrub the dust, rust, and tarnish off them. Give them a bath with some soap and water. Put them back on Craigslist and eBay. Let the bills rain down.

Shred Jeans

I once new a guy whose son did this for a part-time job. It is very unique. First you go on Craigslist or eBay and buy lots of jeans. Make sure they are not ripped. What you do is take a pocket knife and cut rips in the jeans and maybe even splash or splatter some paint on them. Then, you sell them for a lot more. Have you ever been in a store that sells jeans? The normal, non-ripped jeans are much cheaper than the jeans with holes and rips on them. You could make a lot of many depending on how many jeans you buy and sell.

Start a Club

Start a club like a chess club or a dance club or a parkour club or something like that. For people to join it, charge something, but not too much. And be sure to make sure your club is fun and interesting. Meet at least once a week. 

Something Store

Many people do not know about this, but it is really cool. The Something Store is a website where you send in $10 (which includes shipping and handling) and they send you in the mail something completely random. If you go on YouTube   And search Something Store you can see a lot of people and what they got. I've ordered two somethings before and I got a pair of earrings (sadly you can't choose what gender you are when you order) and a pair of 180 earmuffs, a really nice brand of earmuffs. Practically anything anyone's gotten has been worth equal to, or a higher price than $10. The best things the Something Store has ever handed out are a Nexus tablet and an iPod shuffle. In case I haven't mentioned yet, everything is brand new and in the box. To make money off this website, you can buy many somethings, and sell them for the price they are really worth on Craigslist or eBay. I figured out that the earrings I got we're worth $10 (no profit) and my earmuffs where worth $25! ($15 profit). This is gambling though, so you may not make money all the time. It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get!

Help with Technology

Believe it or not, there are still many people these days that don't know to use technology, such as the elderly. Get paid to help someone not that well with technology! There are many older people that want a Facebook account or an email account, but don't know how to set one up. Sit down with them and make one for them, and teach them how to use it! Others know how to do technology, but are just too lazy to do stuff with it. A kid down the street in your neighborhood might want a new dog, but is having trouble convincing to make his parents let him have one. Have him pay you to make a PowerPoint on why he should get a dog for his parents! There are of course many other scenarios, not just getting a dog, where you could make a PowerPoint or a Word document. Have fun and get creative!

Allowance

If you don't want to make money with any other ways listed, then there is always the classic allowance. Convince your parent or parents to pay you for doing chores. A good way to decide how much you get paid a week can decide on your grade. This was how we used to do it at my house. If you are in 3rd grade you get paid 3 dollars a week. If you're in 10th grade you get 10 dollars a week. Or you can do it for double your grade such as if you are in 4th grade you get paid 8 dollars a week.

Apps

Make an app! Some app making softwares don't require programming, but if you want to make a really good app you better study up! There are many ways you can put your apps on the App Store to sell them. Just google how and there will be many results. GameSalad is a popular app making software.

Sell Plants or Flowers

This way is similar to selling vegetables from a vegetable garden (see earlier post). Plant a garden with pretty plants such as flowers or ferns or some type of cool grass. When they are fully grown, go to Home Depot and buy some cheap plastic pots. Put each plant in a pot and sell them. Make sure you are selling them cheaper than stores so that you can get more people to buy them. Put flyers in mailboxes. You have to buy seeds and pots which are pretty cheap. You will still make profit though if you sell the plants and a good price.

Songs

One really fun way to get some cash is to make some songs (your own) and burn them onto a CD and sell them. You don't even have to have a lot of instruments as long as you have a sound editing software, the most popular one being GarageBand. With this you can choose from hundreds of instruments and choose what notes they play. You can have many instruments playing at once, and with different volumes. Maybe you want a piano playing loudly, a base that is quiet with an electric guitar that's loud, and some drums sort of quiet. Then, you can record yourself singing, using the microphone in your computer, and put it with your music. You can do all sorts of fun stuff with your voice like making it deep, high pitched, echoed, etc. Once your song is done you can either put the song into your iTunes library, burn it on a CD, or whatever you want to do with it. Give your song a name and BA-BAM! And you're raking in the $$$ (once you start selling it obviously).

Tutor

Are you good in school? Or in a skill, like sewing or painting? Or in a sport, like basketball or volleyball? TUTOR! Have kids pay you to teach them how to something. Teach them how to do math, or help them study for a test. Teach them unique brush strokes, or how to sew a shirt. Teach them how to shoot a 3 pointer, or how to spike. Charge around $10 per session.

Dog Walking

This is another opposite way of making money. Make your flyers pleasing to the eye and unique. There is really not much you can say about this. Oh yeah, make sure you walk the dogs long enough. At least half a mile, but around one or two miles is good.

Babysitting

I know you have all heard of this before, but I had to mention it someday. Put flyers in mailboxes in your neighborhood or other neighborhoods to advertise that you are a babysitter. To make yourself different from other babysitters, mention uniques things about you such as you know CPR, First Aid, and AED. Make sure to tell your age also.

Stocks

This way of making money can make you a millionaire, or it can cause you to go bankrupt. In case you don't know what stocks are, I will explain them. Stocks are small ownerships of a company that you can buy. They sell in shares. If you own 10 shares of Wendy's stock (like me) it means you own 10 shares of the thousands of shares there are of Wendy's. I own a very small portion of the Wendy's company. Stock prices go up and down depending on many things, mostly supply and demand. The more stocks people buy from a company, the higher the demand, the lower supply, so the price goes up. If you bought 100 shares of a company for $1 each (overall the price is $100) and the next day the stock goes up a dollar, you now have $200 dollars (that is if you sell them of course, or you can wait and see if it goes up more and more). Some people make millions on them. Apple stock used to be sold for under $50 dollars a share, and now each share is worth over $450! 

Sweepstakes

Enter as many sweepstakes and contests online as you can! Be sure to get your parent's permission first and ask them if you can use their name because it is technically illegal for people under 18 to enter sweepstakes and stuff like that. I have heard of many people winning a pair of jet skis or getting a weekend vacation to Hawaii. You could keep these things if they are cool (like jet skis), but otherwise, sell them!

Barter Up

Have you ever seen the show Barter Kings? It is where two guys start out with small cheap items and barter, or trade, to bigger items until they get a large expensive object they want, or they get an expensive object and sell it. Go on the Craigslist website for your area and click barter. See all the things people are willing to trade. You can take a small item you have and put it on Craigslist under the barter section and see what others are willing to offer. If you something you like someone is willing to trade, meet them somewhere, with a parent of course, and trade! Then post that online and see if someone is willing to trade for something bigger and better. Soon, once you get a big item, sell it for money! You could make tons of profit!

Art

Do you have an amazing talent at art? You do!?! Then why are you just sitting around reading on the Internet reading this blog? Go paint, sculpt, draw, build, or whatever and sell it. Many people are looking for good art these days for their homes. Even if you don't think you're that good, give it a try. Post your art on eBay or Craigslist or somewhere similar and see if anyone is interested. You never know!

Throw a Backyard Party

Have a party in your yard! Have all sorts of games and activities and invite all the kids in the neighborhood. To get in though, charge $5 dollars. If the kids really like it, do it again in a month or two. Be sure to have some snacks or drinks sitting out to keep them full, refreshed, and happy!

Clean

Many people want their house to be clean, but are too lazy to do it. Become a house cleaner! Go over to people's houses and charge to clean their house for them. Make sure you clean everything, though. Don't leave a room not clean. Vacuum, dust, wipe, etc. It could be a long and nasty job...good luck.

Sell Pets

One really unique way to make money is to sell pets to others. No, this does not mean become a breeder or to sell dogs or cats, but you can catch some unique bugs. Go outside and capture cool looking caterpillars or beetles or spiders and buy some cheap plastic containers (with holes in the top so the animals can breath). Put some dirt or leaves or grass I the cage to make the animal feel at home. BE SURE TO RESEARCH WHAT THE ANIMALS EAT! Do not kill the animals by not feeding them or try to feed them something they don't eat. Go find some of what they eat (there should be some around the area wherever you found the animal; it wouldn't be living there without food) and feed them some and when you sell the animal tell the new owner about what they eat and try to show them a sample so they now what it looks like. Some of the bugs, such as some spiders, eat other bugs like ants, so you can decide whether you want to capture those bugs or not because they're hard to maintain.

Landscaping

This is more than just lawn mowing on your own. You can get together with some friends or neighbors and create a "business" of landscaping. Someone can mow while the others pull weeds, trim bushes, water plants, etc. By doing this you will be different than all the other "mowers" in the neighborhood and people will want this more because they get bonuses, not just the average mowing.

Photography

Do you own a camera? If yes, then here is another great money making method. Whether you live out in the countryside, or in a busy city, you can take beautiful photographs. Take pictures of sunrises, sunsets, buildings, land, trees, plants, etc. Once you have a good selection of photos you can sell those for a good price and become a Profit Kid.

Write a Book

You probably won't be the next J.K. Rowling, but it doesn't mean you can't write a book and get it published. I have heard of many young kids, some even 7 years old, that have published books and sold around 100 copies. If they can do it, you can do it!

Pet Sitting

Another fun way to earn some cash is to watch pets while their owners are on vacation or gone for the weekend. This is not limited to just dogs and cats. Many people have hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, lizards, snakes, turtles, chinchillas, hedgehogs, etc. These pets don't feed themselves! Some pets, such as dogs, need playtime and walks, while others are less work. Almost everyone has pets and needs someone to watch them sometimes. And that person can be you!

Metal Detecting

This way of making money will only work if you own a metal detector. I own one, but have not used it much. When I did use it I found many coins, and once I found a fishing lure. My uncle, on the other hand, has been metal detecting for many years now and has found many rings made of gold and some with diamonds and gold or silver earrings and other jewelry. He likes to keep and collect the things he finds, so he hasn't made any money, but he could if he wanted too. The best places to metal detect are in the shallow parts of lakes. That is where people lose their stuff the most and can't find it. 

YouTube

Getting money from making YouTube videos is pretty much the same as making money from a blog or website. Once you have a lot of views for your YouTube videos you can get an AdSense account and have ads put on your your videos which can bring you money. If you're stuck on what your videos should be about, some ideas are tutorials, reviews, or just funny!

Plant a Vegetable Garden

Another way to make some cash is to plant a garden with lots of vegetables. Once they're ready to harvest, sell the vegetables. It's not hard, but it takes a while.

Start a Business

No, this does not mean save up money for a shop and start hiring employees. I am talking about a very small business. This can be a fun way to make money, if you enjoy what you're making. Creating a small business involves making a product and selling it. For example, if you know how to sew and like sewing you can make outfits for dolls, or make little stuffed animals. You can make anything you want. I got into the hobby of making wooden walking sticks before and I sold two to my grandparents for $20 (I never really tried to sell anymore. It was just a hobby). You could make dog treats, walking sticks, art, etc. To sell these you can make and print off some flyers to put in mailboxes around you neighborhood with a phone number or email address on them. It can be fun making things, but the funner (I know funner isn't a word) part is making money for those things! Who wouldn't want to make money while doing something you love?

Make a Weekly Paper with Advertising

One fun way to make money is to write or make a news/games/fun facts paper. You could have some news articles, local or national, and maybe put on it a crossword puzzle, or word search, or sudoku puzzle. You could also throw in some fun facts or something else like horoscopes. You could make a paper like this weekly and then go around to many restaurants in your area and ask if they could distribute these to their customers or have them sitting out for people to take (for free of course). So right now you're probably thinking, "How do I make money by doing this?" Well, somewhere on that paper write: Advertising available. Contact (your name) at (your email or phone number). Once this paper starts becoming popular, businesses can contact you and ask for an ad of their business to be put on the page. You can charge for ads to be put which is how you could make money. Once you have businesses paying you for ads, ask them to send you their ad and put it on your paper for that week. This is one of the ways to make money that is somewhat hard. Every week you would have to create a new paper and send it or bring it to restaurants, which can be tiring. And it would also cost some money to pay for the ink in the printer printing these out.

Buy Cheap, Sell Higher

Another way to make money is to find products for a really great deal (the best day for this is on Black Friday or Cyber Monday) and then put them up for sale on Craigslist or eBay for more. This method is probably one of the best ways to earn money because you can make a ton of money depending on what you buy and how much you sell it for. For example, you could buy 20 laptops for a good sale price then sell them for double the price!

Make a Blog

One way to make money is to make a blog. You can make a blog, and then you can get a Google AdSense account which allows ads to appear on your blog which can pay you. And the best part is it's all free! It's a great way to earn money and it's not hard at all. You can also make a website and get ads to pay you.
